Advanced Tactics

Sanae's Wind Summon has many practical applications, the most obvious being to redirect her projectiles. Using wind in conjunction with Cobalt Spread can speed up or slow down the velocity of the initial tremor, despite it being underground. With the (X)Button-x version of Cobalt Spread, wind going against the projectile will cause it to stay in place, creating a psuedo-trap akin to Earth Goddess ~ Snare. Defensively, wind can be used to slow down the projectiles created by Prayer "Charm of Good Commerce", creating a mobile wall that will guard Sanae against more projectile-heavy characters such as Sakuya, Eirin, and Cirno. The added advantage is that Sanae will return to an idle state while the projectiles are still on screen, effectively making this technique useful for cover fire.

Outside of this, because the wind pushes Sanae along with it, Sanae can actually use wind during a combo against a cornered opponent to cancel out some of the cornerpush, allowing Sanae to maintain offense and allow for links that would otherwise not be possible. Alternatively, usage of wind can also be used during a blockstring to push Sanae away from her opponent, thus making her blockstrings safer. Note that this doesn't actually affect Sanae's frame advantages on hit or block, but makes her harder to punish with certain attacks due to the added distance, so even a blockstring ending in a negative frame advantage can be made safe.
