Toon Link is the name given to Link's design in The Legend of Zelda games that use a cel-shading graphic style, like Four Swords and The Wind Waker. Toon Link also appeared as a separate character from Link in Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS & Wii U and Hyrule Warriors Legends.
Toon Link's design is vastly different from Link's design, having a more cartoonish look and appearing much younger. However, his abilities are otherwise identical to Link's.
In M.U.G.E.N, Toon Link has been made by J. NEWMAN & Duckerman12, This Boy and YochiThMaster333.
J. NEWMAN & Duckerman12's version
Like all of J. NEWMAN's characters, this version of Toon Link lacks Specials and Hypers and has a lot of missing Normals, with no crouching Normals at all, making him incredibily difficult to use. While the sprites are custom, there are only 44 of them, they look very awkward and the animations have very few frames.
This Boy's version
This version of Toon Link uses only three buttons, and because he has no Specials and Hypers, his moveset is very bare-bones. The hitboxes are placed very erratically and constantly change, and the character is very small, giving him an advantage over larger opponents.
YochiThMaster333's version
While this character uses custom sprites, he has some flaws in his moveset that make him overpowered, with high comboability, allowing the player to deal huge damage by just mashing buttons, and Hypers that deal above average damage. To rub the salt into the wound, he uses the infamous Super Marvel vs. Capcom: Eternity of Heroes template, meaning he's plagued with bugs.
