ShinSamus (formerly known as ShinRyoga; real name Ailynn Moore) is a veteran American M.U.G.E.N author who, under her original alias and alongside NeOaNkH, is known for having created three characters and four stages, the most notable of which being Super Mario. ShinRyoga's original run in the community lasted from the very early 2000s up until the end of 2007, after which she took a decade long retirement before rejoining the community almost a decade later in 2017, under her current alias of ShinSamus.

Prior to the creator's retirement, ShinRyoga was in the process of creating a heavily Metroid Prime-inspired Samus Aran character; fellow creator Reuben Kee was planning on doing the coding for Samus, but his tragic death in a boating accident on November 23, 2007 ended up causing her to retire from M.U.G.E.N creation altogether; ShinRyoga had also planned on making a Bowser character in the same style that can been seen in Super Mario's Arcade story, but was cancelled because of a lack of free time to work on it, as well as increasing personal issues. Since rejoining the community, ShinSamus has expressed interest in renewing her efforts to make the Samus character, though on condition that she becomes better at spriting.[1]
