Shang Tsung is the final boss of Mortal Kombat, and a recurring villain in the series. Though his origins are unclear, Shang Tsung was cursed by the gods to consume the souls of the living, in order to hold off his fast aging. He eventually became a underling of Shao Kahn, working on his schemes to conquer Earthrealm. He took over the Mortal Kombat tournament, enacting a plan to use the tournament to weaken the dimensional gates. He entered Goro in the tournament, who defeated the Great Kung Lao and started a winning streak, going undefeated for 500 years. With only one more victory needed, Goro was finally defeated by Liu Kang, who challenged Shang Tsung and defeated him as well. Facing execution for his failure and the apparent death of Goro, Shang Tsung begged for his life, convincing the emperor to challenge the Earthrealm warriors for a new tournament in Outworld. Shao Kahn agrees, restoring Shang Tsung's youth, but he used the tournament only as a diversion, as he already had another plan to take over Earthrealm.
In M.U.G.E.N, Shang Tsung was made by various authors.
This version of Shang Tsung is based on his Mortal Kombat II incarnation. He can transform into all of the characters from Mortal Kombat II, as well as Shao Kahn, Kintaro & Kung Fu Man. All of his transformations have the ability to perform their original fatalities as well as stage fatalities, which include those exclusive to The Dead Pool, The Bell Tower, The Pit, The Pit II, The Pit III, and The Subway.
MelvanaInChains & The_None's version
Unlike other versions, this Shang Tsung has some original attacks, such as an oversized Fireball, Akuma's Asura Warp, and Goro's Shadow Kick. He also has some Hyper finishers, including one where he shoots a fireball that transforms an oversized head of Shaquille O'Neal.
