It seems as if this version of Ryu is a direct port from the first installment of the Street Fighter series. While it may have the same moveset, it opts for more custom gameplay, but possibly takes cues from later installments of the franchise.
Despite Street Fighter having either a two of six button layout in its original arcade iterations, Ryu uses four buttons: (X), (Y), (A) and (B). Other than that, Ryu manages to be somewhat faithful to the source game, aside from better functioning Specials and the addition of two Hypers.
Being based off one of the earliest fighting games ever, way before the discovery of combos, comboing isn't quite Ryu's niche. That being said, it is still able to rack up combos consisting of a few hits. To counterbalance this, its Specials and Hypers are more powerful, but are still balanced enough.
Ryu's A.I is medium. It sometimes has bouts of aggression, using Specials and Hypers diligently, but overall, isn't too difficult.
