Origin

Pokémon

Regice is an Ice-type Pokémon from the Pokémon series. It is one of the three legendary golems of the Hoenn region, along with Regirock and Registeel. It appears at #194 in the Hoenn Pokédex and #378 in the National Pokédex.

Regice's body was made during an ice age and is made of Antarctic ice that is so cold, it can't be melted, even by fire. Regice controls frigid air of -328 degrees F, and as such, things will freeze solid just by going near it.

In M.U.G.E.N, Regice was made by Thousand and AxKing. The majority of Thousand's version's sprites are taken from the Pokémon games and have been edited to fit the action(s) Regice is performing, while AxKing's version uses semi-custom sprites taken from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire that have been up-scaled and partially redrawn. Regice also appears during some of Claymizer's Registeel's attacks.

Gameplay

Regiceidle

Though Regice does have attacks, the file containing them (Atkice.cns) is not actually assigned to the character through its .def, meaning Regice cannot attack until this is fixed. Regice has a very limited moveset, with only the Button-a and Button-b buttons assigned to its attacks, making it very repetitive to play as and against.

Regice's damage output follows no consistency, with two of its specials using the same amount of power, but dealing radically different amounts of damage, and its attacks in general are overpowered, dealing tremendous amounts of shield damage in comparison to its unguarded damage. It has a rather glitchy jump, occasionally falling through the ground if certain buttons are pressed while Regice is airborne. Regice is also missing many required sprites, and the overall file size is only about 138 KB.
