Ray the Flying Squirrel is a character who first appeared as a playable character in the arcade game SegaSonic the Hedgehog as one of three playable characters along with Sonic the Hedgehog and Mighty the Armadillo. Following this, the character would vanish from future games until the release of Sonic Mania Plus, which added him and Mighty as playable characters.
Ray is often shown to be a comical and confident yet often distracted kid. In his Archie Comics counterpart, he suffers from stutter as well. In Sonic Mania Plus, Ray has the ability to glide from a jump and control the angle of his descent, similar to the Cape Feather powerup from Super Mario World.
In M.U.G.E.N, Ray the Flying Squirrel has been made by MUGENHunter and Crowsar.
MUGENHunter's version[]
After having lived the process of puberty in both physical appareance and voice, it seems this Ray uses a moveset of newly learned Muay Thai. Altough his usual distracted self will prevent him to go too hard on his opponents, watch for the time he'll actually got you in his supers and/or kick combos.
