The colour issues that make this old version of Pikachu appear mostly grayscale are the least of its worries, as this relic from the DOS M.U.G.E.N era fails to function properly in WinMUGEN or later because of several errors in its coding, so don't expect it to be fighting again without first taking it to the nearest Fighter Factory.
The first known version of Pikachu, though like many first versions of characters, isn't all that great; nearly all of its sprites have colour issues (as seen in the above idle animation) and several of its hitboxes are the same as Kung Fu Man's, implying that said character was used as a template. It also doesn't actually load up in M.U.G.E.N due to the actual command coding being implemented incorrectly, causing an error in the process. If one were to fix this, they'd find that there's also plenty of errors elsewhere in the constants file. Due to the time of release, it could be possible that it worked on versions of M.U.G.E.N that pre-date even WinMUGEN.
By fixing every error M.U.G.E.N encounters when trying to load this character, it actually functions perfectly fine, though a few glitches still occur; when activating what XGargoyle listed as SUPER ATTACK LEVEL 3: Protective Shield in the ReadMe, if Pikachu gets put into its fall state via an opponent's attack, it will be unable to move until its attack ends, though it does become completely invincible. Once the attack ends, regardless of whether it is in its fall state or not, Pikachu will appear to be lying down mid-air (though this is actually a sprite misplacement error) and will not be able to get up until it is hit with an on-the-ground attack; this issue does not occur if Pikachu is in any state other than its idle state when the attack ends. The character also seems to lock up when performing the Backwards Hop (, ).
Being as old as the character is, Pikachu is unsurprisingly without custom A.I. programming. Though the character fails to function outside of DOS M.U.G.E.N, one would expect it to perform the same as other characters that lack custom A.I., blocking most of the time and jumping around randomly, only rarely executing an attack.
Hovering the mouse cursor over the Command Input icons will display text that refers to the inputs set in M.U.G.E.N's Key Config.
Icons encased in square brackets [ ] require the respective button(s) to be held down. Hovering the mouse cursor over the gap displays the hold duration if applicable.

This character does not have any victory quotes, meaning it uses the screenpack's default.
The majority of Pikachu's errors involve unquoted commands and redundant values like third velocities and second sparkno values. It is likely that DOS M.U.G.E.N's parser either didn't count them as erroneous, or ignored them altogether.
