The Nostalgia Critic (often referred to as simply The Critic or NC) is the titular character of the popular web television series of the same name, created by and starring Chicago comedian Doug Walker.
In M.U.G.E.N, Nostalgia Critic has been made by SSkye and is a sprite edit of K' from The King of Fighters; as with his Angry Video Game Nerd character, his Nostaliga Critic has been edited by DTheRedCloak and DuckSS Farm. Another version by Adamlexus exists that is parodic in nature.
Nostalgia Critic has a gameplay very similar to that of a character from King of Fighters. He is a 6-button character with two specials and two hypers. He can also use a hyper and a special in the air. Nostalgia Critic has no vocal sound effects aside from the scream he makes when he is KO'd. A feature that is surprisingly not included is a special intro against SSkye's Angry Video Game Nerd character, due to their well-known rivalry present in certain online videos. His pants are colored dark blue, while in the show his pants (although rarely seen) are a lighter shade of blue.
Hovering the mouse cursor over the Command Input icons will display text that refers to the inputs set in M.U.G.E.N's Key Config.
Icons encased in square brackets [ ] require the respective button(s) to be held down. Hovering the mouse cursor over the gap displays the hold duration if applicable.
Nostalgic Ballz is a joke edit that uses voice samples of the video "let's play super mario bros 2 nostalgically" by PsychedelicSA, which made fun of the Nostalgia Critic's questionable Let's Playing abilities, along with some references to the let's play satirizer, Retsupurae. Notable among various bizarre edits is an achievement system and a save state system that can glitch the opponents when abused.
