Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Noriaki Kakyoin is one of the major characters in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part III: Stardust Crusaders.

Kakyoin was initially under control by DIO until he was freed by Jotaro Kujo, and undergoes a change in personality partway through the story, which is reflected in a variation of him playable in the Playstation and Arcade game known as New Kakyoin. While cold and abrasive to most, he is actually extremely loyal and is a good friend to those he does trust.

Kakyoin's Stand, Hierophant Green, is an elastic Stand that takes on the appearance of a green connected membrane that is capable of coiling itself into a humanoid form. While Hierophant Green is poor in close range situations, it excels at long range combat and can be remotely controlled by Kakyoin even in great distances. By uncoiling itself, Hierophant Green is able to enter another person's body and grant Kakyoin complete control over that person; alternatively, Hierophant Green can uncoil itself into multiple membrane strings to serve as a net or rope, with the former being used as either a trap or as a network that can detect enemy movements. Hierophant Green's most powerful ability, however, is the Emerald Splash, which concentrates energy into crystalline projectiles that are then fired from Hierophant Green's hands in a shotgun-like dispersion, covering a wide range.

In M.U.G.E.N, Noriaki Kakyoin has been made two times in both of his variations by both Nimame and Izumo.

Nimame's first version[]

Kakyoin Idle

A strong character overall, Kakyoin has numerous advantages. When his Stand is activated, Emerald Splash goes from a short range, shotgun-like blast to a full barrage of projectiles which travel across the screen, and the other attacks done with his Stand are also quite good, being extremely long-range for melee attacks, if not a bit slow, and his normal attacks are also a bit slow. He borders on being a Cheap Character due to his very projectile-spam oriented gameplay, a trait that made him one of the most powerful characters in his source game.

This version's AI is notably weaker than most other versions of him.

Nimame's second version (New Kakyoin)[]

Newkakyoin Idle

"New Kakyoin", or the variation of him that shows him partway through the story, is very similar to his normal counterpart, but has a number of differences that change his gameplay greatly. The most noticeable of these changes is that both variations of Emerald Splash are short-ranged, limiting him from winning fights simply by spamming it repeatedly. He is also faster, has a completely different super, and has the physics on several of his moves altered. Overall, he could be considered a more balanced version of the offensive powerhouse that is his normal self.

His AI is slightly stronger than that of his normal counterpart.
