Newagemugen is a private M.U.G.E.N stage, screenpack and graphics creator group that was founded by former PhantomGs and Club Syndicate Xtreme members GLB, BIGBOSS, and Quicksilver in 2010.
Newagemugen was created after the Club Syndicate Xtreme and PhantomGs websites closed down, so as to allow for ex-members of these sites to continue working together on private M.U.G.E.N content and graphics. From 2010-2018, Its core members included well-known but now mostly retired creators such as Dissidia, Noz, Flamekyo, MOTVN, MUGENMASON, Markpachi, Watta, EXShadow, Immortal Syn, Excham, DJ HANNIBALROYCE, Jeanbereau, and WargameKun. As of 2021, aside from its founders, Genesis, Ex-Sirius, Margatroid, Hatter, Phantom D, ARIKAFGC, FilthyFredo, Rivelio, Ghost Carti, D2TD, SwaggaKings, Shadowfox140, SxVector, and many more make up the site's core userbase.
Newagemugen community has maintained an incentive based ranking system as per its predecessor sites since 2005; anyone can publicly register and join, but members are ranked based on productivity and contributors to the community. As of 2018, they announced that they will be updating their ranking system.[1]
