Like all of Minoo's Touhou characters, Murasa has a very unusual button layout and custom sprites and gameplay. She uses three buttons for projectile attack and her melee attacks are limited as a result, though her Specials and Hypers can hit fairly hard.

This version of Murasa has a very unusual button layout, using only the (A)Button-a and (B)Button-b buttons for melee attacks. Shw uses the (C)Button-c, (X)Button-x and (Y)Button-y buttons for ranged attacks and the (Z)Button-z buttons for activating her Hypers.

Her gameplay is different from the Touhou fighting games, though it takes cues from said games. Her gameplay is custom and very unusual. Her Specials and Hypers appear to be more melee-oriented, though her moveest for melee attacks is very small because she uses only two buttons for melee attacks. Her comboability is also limted and she can't rack up a lot of hits. Her Specials and projectile attacks all have a fairly long range and a lot of them knock the opponent down though.

Like Minoo's other characters, Murasa's projectile attacks use up Power. However, Murasa starts out with 1500 Power at the start of a fight and has a "Spirit Attack", activated with Button-D Button-D (C)Button-c, that deals no damage but knocks the opponent down and gives 1000 Power, making Power gain a non-issue. This also allows her to spam her Hypers. Like her Specials, her Hypers also have a long range and deal decent damage. They also don't use a lot of Power.

Like all of Minoo's characters, she has no A.I. and uses the engine's default. It often leaves itself open to attack and doesn't attack frequently, though her projectile attacks can make it a bit harder to deal with. It also rarely uses her Hypers.
