This version of Metal Sonic uses custom sprites, a four-button layout and The King of Fighters-style gameplay, like MUGENHunter's other characters. It has very low comboabilty, but it has various assists based on MUGENHunter's other Sonic characters.
This version of Metal Sonic uses the same button layout as MUGENHunter's other characters, having a The King of Fighters-styled gameplay, akin to MUGENHunter's other characters. It uses (A) and (X) for punches and (B) and (Y) for punches. Unlike MUGENHunter's newer characters, the (C) and (Z) buttons aren't used and it doesn't have a Dodge.
This character's attacks are rather sluggish and it's hard to combo with this character. While its Normals deal moderate damage, it is impossible to make long combo strings. Its jump velocities are awkward; it falls very quickly after jumping. This character's main method of dealing damage is utilizing its various assists, which are gray-scale holograms of some of MUGENHunter's other Sonic characters. They perform one of their Specials when summoned and deal decent damage. This character's main focus is to summoming them from a distance while staying away from the opponent. This character also has two Specials of its own.
Unlike MUGENHunter's other characters, it lacks the feature where pressing two buttons at once when performing the command for a Hyper activates a more powerful version of that Hyper. However, its Hypers deal more damage than MUGENHunter's other character's Hypers, with Body Laser Cannon dealing above average damage for a level 1 Hyper and Super Eletric [sic] Field Attack taking out half of the opponent's Life if its hits. When it uses its Taunt, it gains Life and Power, though it can only be used once per round.
This character has no custom A.I. and uses the engine's default. It jumps around very often and rarely attacks. It also rarely performs its assists or Hypers, and since this character relies on them, it makes for an easy opponent.
