This character has similar gameplay to the same creator's Pocket Mario, but has more metal attributes to make it feel heavy and clunky, just like the source game.
Metal Mario is a three-button character that uses a custom button layout that is resemblent of Super Smash Bros.. He uses the Ⓧ button for his melee attacks, Ⓨ for his Specials and Hypers and Ⓩ for blocking. He is an edit of Mario by the same authors, but with a sound that plays if he walks or lands onto the ground and does not say anything, making him voiceless.
Metal Mario's jumping is lower than any average character, meaning that performing his Ⓧ aerials can be somewhat tricky due to how low he jumps, even with the air jump. This can be quite difficult to perform aerial combos, especially if he tries to do it via his down aerial. He is also small, just like his base, which makes him somewhat hard to hit with standing punches, unless his opponent uses the crouching ones or any kick that kicks down, providing a bit of challenge for Metal Mario's opponents.
Metal Mario has three Specials and Hypers. Fireball is a simple projectile attack that shows Metal Mario firing a fireball from his hand, Tornado Spin sees Metal Mario spinning in circles like a tornado and hits his opponents several times if it connects, and Coin Punch shows Metal Mario going up while hitting his opponent that also shows a coin if a hit connects, and all of his Specials can be performed on the ground or the air. For Metal Mario's Hypers, Flaming Fireball works similar to his Fireball Special, though it can hit his opponent more times instead of just once, Coin Punch Rush sees Metal Mario running into his opponent, and if it connects, he hits his opponent while also going up, and Super Tornado shows Metal Mario spinning like a tornado similar to his Tornado Spin Special, but also sees him dashing into his opponents whenever they are and when the said Hyper is over, the player losses control of Metal Mario for a bit.
Like his base, Metal Mario uses the default A.I., which makes him move around the stage while randomly attacking, while also using Ⓩ most of the time.
