Mecha Sonic is a robotic version of Sonic that has so far appeared only in the game Sonic & Knuckles. Though they share some similarities, it is not to be confused with Metal Sonic.
Mecha Sonic is a powerful robot created by Dr. Eggman, and as with all of Eggman's robots, its purpose was to defeat Sonic and any of his allies. When in contact with the Master Emerald, Mecha Sonic gained attributes similar to Sonic when he uses the power of the Chaos or Super Emeralds, such as invincibility and the glowing, golden appearance. It was held back by Sonic and was eventually destroyed by Knuckles. There's another incarnation of Mecha Sonic who was the semi-final boss in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, sometimes referred to by fans as Silver Sonic to avoid confusion between the two.
In M.U.G.E.N, Mecha Sonic has been made by various creators. Most versions of Mecha Sonic were inspired by the fan-made animation Super Mario Bros. Z, while others are reconstructions of both incarnations of the Mecha Sonic boss battles in the classic Sonic games.
Fawfulfan's version
Being an edit of supermystery's Vegeta, this version is heavily inspired off Dragon Ball Z and uses sprites from Sonic & Knuckles. Over-exposure to the Master Emerald leaves it with a ton of easy infinites, wonky hitboxes, a spammy and hardly beatable A.I. and a plethora of other issues.
