Origin

X-Men

Magneto is a main villain in the comic and TV show X-Men. He is the leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants. He has the ability to maniplulate gravity allowing him to fly and can move metal objects around (hence the name). The helmet he wears protects him from having his mind read. Aside from being a complex villain, he is top tier in both Marvel vs Capcom 2 and (Ultimate) Marvel vs Capcom 3, so he's popular with fighting game fans as well.

In M.U.G.E.N, he has been made by a whole breadth of creators, due to his various appearances in many games.

BillyKane's version

BillyMaggyIdle

While its folder name may be called MVC_Magneto, most expecting it to actually be accurate to said game would be heavily mistaken. Magneto contains its many launchers, but its super jump only chains into one. Its Hypers also have completely different activation methods than the source.

SunMagIdle

This early miscoloured Magneto encapsulates its various appearances in Capcom's fighting games, but takes the most influence from Marvel Super Heroes and X-Men vs. Street Fighter. Unlike many other characters converted from the former, it manages to include the coveted infinity gem system.

Nobuyuki's first version

MagXSFIdle

Nobuyuki's first edition of Magneto is a rather source accurate conversion of its appearance in X-Men vs. Street Fighter. All of its moves are present, and looks visually like the source game.

Kong's versionThis version has been edited

MagKIdle

This version of Magneto attempts to be accurate to "Marvel vs. Capcom 2", but its move commands are jumbled around and it is as broken as its source game (that isn't a good thing). On the other hand, its hardest A.I level will welcome most unsuspecting players to die.

Nobuyuki's second versionThis version has been edited

MagMC2Idle

Nobuyuki's second attempt at a Magneto conversion is based off Marvel vs. Capcom 2. It seems to be rather source accurate, and it even comes with a Psylocke striker to boot.

aa250 & bdc's version

MagABIdle

This incarnation of the Master of Magnets shoots to be similar to a multitude of appearances in Capcom's coveted "Marvel vs. Capcom" series and uses six buttons.

ZVitor & JETthePHOENIX's version

MagZIdle

While most versions of Magneto attempt to be close to the "Marvel vs. Capcom" series, this version strives to have a partially custom moveset, as it is included in two of Project X's fullgames.
