Everything below (and including) this article's "gameplay" section is outdated. When it doubt, refer to the offical character article-making article.
This page's purpose is to show editors how to make a 'good looking' article on any Pokémon character. I will be using the Gallade and Gigigear articles as demonstrations. For starters, Pokémon should be written with the accented é (Ctrl + Alt + E).

Layout
Articles that are about characters of a certain series (in this case Pokémon) mainly follow some sort of layout design. The layout goes as follows:
Character Infobox
The character infobox for a Pokémon should include the most recent artwork of the Pokémon (can be found at Bulbapedia) in .png format (yes, you can do that. Just put (in the 'image' section of the infobox) File:Imagefilename.png) because PNG's look clearer and a caption under the image stating what game the artwork is from with a link to Bulbapedia's article about it; if there isn't an artwork of the Pokémon (for whatever reason) then use the M.U.G.E.N character's portrait; if that doesn't exist, then use the idle animation of the character in .gif format. The rest is just standard stuff (creator(s), etc.), other than the origin being Pokémon (written with the accent, as you should for any meantion of the name). If there is more than one download link, make it so that the link says the name of the creator followed by the word "Version" (Claymizer's Version). It should look something like this (note that the download link name in this image is old, so don't follow that):
First line of text
The first line of text should give a brief analysis of the Pokémon that includes the name, the type(s), any evolutions, and where it's placed in both the regional (Kanto, Johto, etc.) and the national dex. It should look something like this:
Second line of text
The next line should give a more in-depth description of the abilities of the Pokémon, such as being able to transform into any Pokémon it sees, or being able to extend the ends of its arms into sword-like blades. It should look something like this:
Third line of text
This line should include some form of description saying who made it for M.U.G.E.N. If there are two people that made different versions of the character, end it there and continue to 'Gameplay'. If there is only one version of the character, give a basic description on what the character looks like and how it attacks. It should look similar to either this:
or this:
Gameplay
First off, if there are more than one different versions of the character, instead of putting gameplay, put that name of the creator followed by the name of the character. Underneath that, put a more detailed description about the M.U.G.E.N character stating good/bad points about it, as well as a GIF of the idle animation. Underneath that, put a sub-heading of 'Stats', which is pretty much self-explanatory. Lastly, underneath that, put another sub-heading of 'Movelist'; this should consist of a key and the animations of any specials/hypers the character has (when an attack has multiple animations for it (e.g. a startup animation), you use the animation that has a red/yellow hitbox somewhere in it); don't forget to put the activation method of the move and how much power it uses (when putting them into the article, put them in order, so that D (down) is first, then F (forward), then B (backwards) (if there is an attack the uses U (up), then that would come after B), next comes a, then b, then c, then x, then y, and finally, z). On a side note, dispite if you might think otherwise, you need to put the exact name of the move (that includes whether it be in full capitals or not). Overall, the gameplay section should like similar to this:
Palette Gallery
This is again pretty self-explanatory. You need to create an image gallery and add the palettes of the character, you should also put some text underneath the images that tells the reader what the name (the exact name) of the pallete is, and (if any) a relation to the character, such as a palette being its 'shiny' colouration. It should look something like this:
YOU'RE ALMOST DONE, BUT YOU WILL NEED TO REPEAT THE ABOVE TWO IF THERE IS MORE THAN ONE VERSION OF THE CHARACTER!!!
Videos
This is the final heading you will need to do (isn't that great!). All you need to do here is place a video into the article...simple! Keep in mind that if you only use one video, don't use a video gallery. If you use more than one video, then you use a video gallery.
Categories
This doesn't need a heading. You place these categories into the article: Characters Pokemon Characters Video Game Characters Anime & Manga Characters Nintendo Characters. You also need to place the Generation 'X' category into the article, where 'X' is the Roman Numeral for the generation that the Pokémon originated from (I, II, III, IV or V).
Congratulations, you've created a professional looking article about a Pokémon!
