Hugo Simpson is a non-canon character and Bart's conjoined twin in the Treehouse of Horror VII short The Thing and I. As Bart's twin, Hugo looks practically identical to him, though appears more scruffy, having torn clothes and no shoes. In that short, Bart and Lisa discovered him after hearing strange noises from the attic.
After Homer and Marge claim to know nothing about the mysterious noises coming from the attic, Bart and Lisa decide to go investigate, only to find that whatever it was has escaped. Upon discovering this, Homer and Marge decide to explain that the noises were coming from Bart's twin, Hugo, who was locked away due to Dr. Hibbert claiming he was "the evil twin". The climax of the short explains that Bart was in fact the evil twin, and Bart and Hugo switch places, with Bart living in the attic and Hugo living with the rest of the family.
