Origin

Pokémon

Heracross is a Bug/Fighting-type Pokémon from the Pokémon series. While it doesn't evolve to or from any other Pokémon, it has a Mega Evolution known as Mega Heracross. It appears at #114 in the Johto Pokédex and #214 in the National Pokédex.

Heracross' most notable trait is its single, long horn that it uses to pick up and throw opponents with ease. Heracross can be typically seen feeding on tree sap and will often find itself fending off other Bug-type Pokémon in order to protect its food; it is not above sharing its food with other Pokémon, however, as long as they don't take all of it for themselves.

In M.U.G.E.N, Heracross has been made by AxKing and Gladiacloud & Dylanius9000; while both versions use custom sprites, AxKing's are based on Heracross' sprites from Pokémon Platinum, while Gladiacloud & Dylanius9000's were mostly made from scratch by the former, unlike their previous work.

With sprites by Gladiacloud and coding by Dylanius9000, Heracross may be a bit of a lug on the ground, but the air is where its true speed starts to show; unfortunately, the majority of its moveset is entirely ground-based, so rather than going in all guns blazing, Heracross will need to take a more defensive stance and punish the opponent for their mistakes...or simply toss them about, whichever works best.
