Green Lantern (John Stewart) is an African American hero from DC comics, and a member of the Green Lantern Corps. He had first appeared in Green Lantern #87, in the story Beware My Power, and has also made appearances in DC cartoons, such as Justice League Unlimited.
When Guy Gardner was injured on duty, the guardians of OA had decided that there needed to be a replacement for the loudmouthed redhead. John, an architect, was their choice, and despite having a shaky start due to his disrespect of authority figures, he later became a respected and valued member of the Corps. Like the other members of the Green Lantern Corps, John can create anything he imagines using the powerful ring. The only limit to what the space cop could create is his own willpower, and the fact that the weapon needs to be recharged every twenty four hours. At one point, the ring had the inability to be used on yellow objects due to a color imbalance in the ring, but this was later fixed.

With sprites drawn by Maximoff meant to look like John's appearance in his first issue, this character has two Specials moves that can be abused to infinitely combo its opponent. Beware this character's power, Green Lantern's spam.

In order to be a member of the Green Lantern Corps, one must be creative. This version of Stewart captures that creativity very well. Sprite lovers will have fun identifying sprites from numerous games, including Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness, Neo Geo Battle Coliseum, and others.
Jhonny_DC's version[]
This character has an edited sff file from Madcook's, but the coding is entirely different. Meant to resemble the character's bald appearance, this alternative features incredibly fast movement speed and misaligned projectiles. Let those who worship evil's might, beware his Mega Photon attack: bright flashing light!
