While this version of Goku uses sprites from Dragon Ball Z: Super Butouden on the SNES, it plays nothing like said game, instead opting for the limited gameplay found in Tako's other characters. It can't combo, but has two Specials, both of which act like Hypers.
Gokou uses five buttons, opting not to use Ⓩ. All five buttons, save for Ⓒ, are used for Normals. When said button is pressed, an aura appears around Gokou, but it has no effect on gameplay. It is also used for its Specials.
Overall, Gokou's gameplay is rather limited. It can't combo, as its Normals don't chain into each other, neither do the Specials. Gokou's two Specials are more akin to Hypers, utilisng Power and a Superpause. Unlike other Dragon Ball Z M.U.G.E.N characters, it also lacks a Power charge, meaning it only has its stiff Normals until it gains enough Power.
The character doesn't have any custom A.I. Given what works against it, Gokou is an easy opponent.
