This edition of Gouken's pupil is heavily based off Marvel vs. Capcom 2, but plays differently in many aspects. It uses six buttons, has no strikers, and arguably has faster and better comboing than the source. One must be able to defeat its aerial rave to stand a chance, but this isn't too hard, as it lacks an A.I.

Ryu is based off Marvel vs. Capcom 2. However, there are many differences from the source. It uses six Basic Attack buttons, rather than four, with the other buttons reserved for strikers, but Ryu also has no strikers. It also seems to have faster paced comboing than in the source. Its Crouching Kicks also hit OTG.

Ryu has all of its Specials and Hypers from the source. However, it also has a new Special, possibly lifted from the Street Fighter Alpha series: The Shakunestu Hadou-Ken. It is more powerful than Hadou-Ken, also causing knockdown, but as a corollary, its command is more complicated, and it can't be used in the air. Most of Ryu's Specials and Hypers cause knockdown or are usable in the air, if not, both. This makes Ryu highly versatile.

Ryu has no custom A.I. As such, it is an easy opponent to overcome when A.I controlled.
