Mami Tomoe is one of the main protagonists of Puella Magi Madoka Magica.
Mami is a magical girl who rescues Madoka Kaname and Sayaka Miki from a witch in the beginning of the series. She is already contracted to Kyubey and offers to act as a cool-headed mentor to the pair should they choose to become magical girls. She is a powerful, headstrong veteran who fights with summoned muskets and ribbons, as well as a ladylike older sister figure who enjoys tea. Mami, eager to acquire new friends, demonstrates the glory and heady thrill of magical heroism, but also shows Madoka and Sayaka the terrible danger inherent in going into the teeth of a witch's domain.
In M.U.G.E.N, Mami Tomoe has been made by Geros and by HAL.
Gameplay[]
Mami is a powerful, 5-button character with a multitude of attacks, and an additional power meter to go with the one used for supers. This second "Magia" power meter is used for their special attacks, and recharges slowly over time, but can also be recharged quicker by taking power from the super meter. They also have a soul gem on the top left/right corner of the screen, which turns darker the more these special attacks are used. The darker the Soul Gem is, the more Mami's special attacks use up the "Magia" meter, and if it becomes entirely black, they cannot use their special attacks for the remainder of the fight. However, these attacks are very powerful and useful, ranging from generating a group of muskets, which fire and vanish shortly after being summoned, binding her opponents with ribbons to prevent them from acting, and a variety of other techniques that excel in keeping the opponent in a disadvantageous situation.
Her AI is absurdly flawless, and is capable of defeating characters with notably brutal AI, such as Hatsune Miku, frequently.
