While this dead meme may seem pretty obnoxious with seemingly infuriating gameplay with very short range, extreme reliance on Specials, Hypers, and assists, and being incredibly susceptible to corner pressure, he is not without his strengths such as an anti air, a Hyper which has tons of utility, and an assortment of assists that carry different benefits for different situations. Overall, this character's strengths are on par with its weaknesses.
Newbie is a five-button character that primarily uses the standard four-button layout for Normal Moves, denoting light and heavy versions of his kicks (Ⓐ and Ⓑ) and punches (Ⓧ and Ⓨ), but with the addition of Ⓒ, which functions as a Dodge.
Newbie's greatest strength is his keepaway game, being capable of flooding the screen with projectiles which can be very tedious to avoid, helped by the fact that the projectiles themselves are powerful. He has five helpers with different utilities: Erik.Cassel's speed can catch an opponent off guard and since he always comes from the left, he can potentially cross-up characters facing right; Telamon is a similar case, though as he shoots a projectile instead of being a flying hitbox, he can be interrupted before he shoots his beam; Guest's projectile has a lot of hitstun applied to it, which, while Newbie cant use it to combo, it does interrupt approaching and strengthens his keepaway game all the more; Other Newbie and builderman get similar jobs done, and that's to either block a projectile or for use as a "projectile", though Other Newbie is superior as his hitbox is much better sized and placed than builderman's. Further bolstering his keepaway playstyle are his Hypers, his most useful being Laser Shot, which not only forces the opponent back into the corner, but its also unblockable in the air, making it a great anti-air; his other Hypers are not without utility, though, with Brick Shoot Barrage doing excellent guard damage, Super Shot offering quick retaliation if needed thanks to its speed, and Rocket Shot making for a great tool to use during the hitstun that Guest provides, providing Newbie has the Power to use it.
Newbie isn't without flaws, however, and one can be seen right from the get-go: Power is needed to deal guard damage, as none of his moves that don't use Power deal any guard damage; EX Brick Shoot does minimal guard damage, leaving Brick Shoot Barrage as his only option, though this is mitigated somewhat considering that the opponent will likely struggle to maneuver themselves in anyway because of Super Shot's utility. For all the strengths his keepaway style grants him, the trade-off is that Newbie is atrociously bad in close-quarters combat; with stubby Normals, aerials with few active frames to land safely, and a lack of a throw or other quick get-off-me option, Newbie will quickly succumb to pressure from characters who can get around his projectiles, not helped by his Hypers all featuring considerable startup, to the point where they can be easily interrupted before the hitbox comes out, so if the opponent can deal with the cross-up ability of Erik.Cassel and Telamon, it leaves Newbie with practically no options and will likely result in his loss.
Newbie uses the default A.I., meaning it doesn't provide any challenge considering this character's weaknesses.

Trivia[]
There is an unused attack in Newbie's animation file named Standing Knockdown Attack located at number 220, suggesting that he was going to be six-buttoned instead, though coding was never implemented for this move; his use of six buttons for Specials and Hypers further supports this.
It is implied that Newbie's crouching Ⓑ was going to be a launcher, made evident by the Super Jump that is activated if the move makes contact and the player holds , but as it simply trips the opponent, the Super Jump is rather useless.
Most ROBLOX characters made for M.U.G.E.N are spriteswaps of this character, something which the creator doesn't like as evidenced by this character's readme file.
