This version of Strong Bad was created using the DC vs. Marvel template, which becomes apparent pretty quickly as it has plenty of leftover sprites from said template and many strange or missing hitboxes. Throw in an A.I. that constantly spams one projectile attack and several moves that are impossible for a player to activate due to overlapping or nonexistent command inputs, and it becomes clear Strong Bad isn't as strong as the name would suggest.
Strong Bad is a six-button character that uses the DC vs. Marvel template, using for kicks and for punches. Like other six-button characters, the strength of a move will depend on the button pressed, but various oddities with Strong Bad's Normals makes him unusual when it comes to this convention. He also has access to a forward dash (activated with either or ), a backwards hop (activated with either or [ ]); the forward dash can also be done in mid-air, while the backwards hop can not. Strong Bad has notable air mobility due to the fact that he has the ability to jump in mid-air up to two times and alongside this has a Super Jump similar to Marvel vs. Capcom (activated with either or ). Strong Bad also has two Normals that increase his height in the air, including glowstick (Ⓩ), where he uses two glowsticks to create a field and float higher, and down light, a move that is similar to a downward stomp.
Strong Bad can chain his Normals in a linear fashion (Ⓧ->Ⓨ->Ⓩ), though he cannot cancel any Normals into a Special. Some of Strong Bad's Normals come out rather fast, typically on the first frame, like his crouching Ⓨ and standing Ⓩ, although the latter uses leftover sprites and animations from the template used, making him rather small due to the resolution of his other sprites. Strong Bad also has various Normals that can be linked into themselves, with his standing Ⓧ in particular resulting in an infinite due to its lack of pushback. Many of Strong Bad's animations, including a majority of his attacks, lack any sort of hitbox on Strong Bad, effectively making him invincible as long as he is using those moves. This also applies to some of his attack's hitboxes, most notably Shit Ball, redzone and the AI-only mega beam which cannot damage opponents whatsoever.
Strong Bad has a rather unorthodox moveset, with many attacks best used at long ranges. on fire has a slow startup, but tracks the opponent and leaves them in a hit state for a large amount of time. knife and Shit Ball share the same command, but Shit Ball comes out more often due to its high command priority. knife is a simple melee attack, while Shit Ball is a fast, limitless projectile that can also be spammed as an infinite. camera (ⒶⒶ) has Strong Bad use a camera to shoot the opponent, which has full horizontal range but a rather small vertical range. Special1 is an odd expansion Special that repeatedly hits while Strong Bad slowly moves across the floor, and interestingly does not revert to Strong Bad's standing animation once complete. old machine SB is an odd, dodge-like move, though it's not very effective as Strong Bad doesn't move much when using it.
Strong Bad has a few Assist attacks, all of which are best used at a far range. redzone summons Vector Strong Bad as he shoots multiple squares at the opponent, and notably Vector Strong Bad cannot be hit or interrupted due to a lack of hitboxes. marshie (Ⓐ) summons Marshie from behind the opponent, who launches the opponent very high upon contact and is generally hard to block, due to the short amount of time an opponent has to turn around and block Marshie correctly. trogdor (Ⓩ) summons an almost full-screen image of Trogdor that repeatedly hits the opponent, and although it requires 1000 Power to activate, it does not actually consume said Power. trogdor is also not limited in terms of how many Trogdors can be active at a time, meaning it's possible to spam the move as an infinite.
Strong Bad's A.I. has a tendency to repeatedly spam Shit Ball, and occasionally will dash towards the opponent and try to initiate a combo. While this does make him rather predictable, due to the aeformentioned hitbox issues Strong Bad is still somewhat difficult to K.O. as attacks won't connect much of the time.
