Everyone's friendly neighborhood superhero has made it to M.U.G.E.N with gameplay from the first Marvel vs. Capcom game. This version of the spider hero comes equipped with web strings to pummel the opponent and has the unique ability to perform smooth aerial combos. Last but not least, he also has his formal partner, Black Cat, who forms co-operation to Spiderman's absolute fullest.
Spider-Man is a six-button character that emulates the gameplay style of the original Marvel vs. Capcom; naturally, he is a combo-heavy character that relies on wall bounces from his various throws. His Web Throw can lead into a wide variety of combos and be followed up by his Web Swing for punishes. One of Spider-Man's unique traits is his notably high jump height, which allows him to perform particularly devastating aerial combos; jumping also can help him perform brutal aerial combos.
Spider-Man's moveset consists of many web-based attacks; his Web Ball projectile can be used to stun opponents as well as stop their combos, his Web Swing and Spider Sting can be used as punishes and combo finishers, and Ultimate Web Throw is useful for both starting and finishing aerial combos, of which the character excels at. Black Cat can be summoned and will use two different attacks based on how far away the opponent is.
Being a character that's reliant on combos, Spider-Man's individual attacks aren't particularly powerful, requiring for his combos to be mastered; he is also easily punished in the event that a combo is mistimed, or if an attack gets blocked or whiffs the opponent entirely; missing his grabs and projectiles is a fatal factor in his play style, as they cannot be cancelled into another move unless the opponent is hit.
Spider-Man does not have custom A.I. meaning it uses the M.U.G.E.N default. The A.I jumps around throughout the match and tends to use Web Ball and Web Swing often. Eventually, it'll start doing minor aerial combos when performing Spider Sting.
