Shadow Man is a ninja-themed Robot Master and one of the eight Robot Masters who originated from Mega Man 3 and the only one not to be created by Dr. Light and Dr. Wily together, as he was found and reactivated by the latter; he also appeared in Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters as a boss.

Possibly alien in origin, as his metal body does not match any material found on Earth, Shadow Man was originally an unknown, deactivated robot discovered by Dr. Wily, who remodeled and reprogrammed him. He is a skilled martial artist and a master of ninjutsu, with his abilities including being able to create temporary duplicates of himself, create smoke screens, summon frog robots and replace his body with a piece of log as defense. Shadow Man's Special Weapon is the Shadow Blade, a large shuriken coated with a deadly liquid.

In M.U.G.E.N, most versions of Shadow Man are either based on his appearance in Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters or use his 8-bit sprites from Mega Man 3, although a version made by Gate & O Ilusionista exists which was created for the full game Capcom Fighting All-Stars and has gameplay based on Marvel vs. Capcom.

This version is a custom-sprited character made for the full game Capcom Fighting All-Stars, with a gameplay style similar to Marvel vs. Capcom and a moveset with many ninja-based attacks, such as his signature Shadow Blade, as well as a brutal A.I., though he has several gameplay and balancing issues, such as his attacks having infinite priority and dealing too much damage.
