Origin

Touhou Project

Suika Ibuki is an oni from Touhou Project, first appearing in Immaterial and Missing Power as the final boss and an unlockable playable character, and later reappearing in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody; she also appeared as a possible support character for Reimu Hakurei in Subterranean Animism, which marks her only appearance in a main series title.

Suika is a jolly and childish oni who loves drinking and is often seen drunk as a result, carrying around a gourd containing a sake bug that turns water into sake. She displays great physical strength that allows her to throw large boulders with ease using only one hand. Her ability is the manipulation of density, which allows her to not only drastically increase her size to giant proportions at will, but also to split up into smaller versions of herself as well as take on the form of mist, the latter of which renders her invulnerable to attack. She is considered to be one of the most powerful youkai in Gensokyo, and was one of the Four Devas of the Mountain alongside Yuugi Hoshiguma and two others prior to them disbanding.

In M.U.G.E.N, Suika Ibuki has been made by various creators. A special edit of Suika, known as Retro Suika, has been made by RoySquadRocks.

Aotsuki's version[]

AotsukiSuikaIdle

Aotsuki's version of the drunken oni has Immaterial and Missing Power gameplay, but uses six buttons as opposed to four. Getting drunk has apparently given Suika a few new attacks to play with, and having Story Mode spellcards from the source game completely intact and at the player's disposal for no Power cost at all makes it so this drunk oni is sure to break more than just the moon.

This special edit of Suika, known as Retro Suika, is essentially tons of retro games combined with Suika, and she contains many references to retro games. She has a diverse moveset and several Specials which have different versions, activated by pressing a button after inputting the command, and she is perhaps one of RoySquadRocks' most extensive characters. Not unlike his other characters, Retro Suika has three different A.I. options.

RPSuikaidle

This inebriated semi-grappler with a small hitbox size has plenty of quick movements and raw damage hidden up her sleeve. While she cannot chain all of her Normals like most, she has plenty of combo potential with a rare ability to actually use her various command grabs to start combos, rather than fully relying on tick throw setups. Once she goes giant with Missing Purple Power, she can really begin to lay the smackdown on her foes.
