This early miscoloured Magneto encapsulates its various appearances in Capcom's fighting games, but takes the most influence from Marvel Super Heroes and X-Men vs. Street Fighter. Unlike many other characters converted from the former, it manages to include the coveted infinity gem system.

Magneto is a six-button character that is based off Marvel Super Heroes and X-Men vs. Street Fighter. Its moveset is the same as the source games, even using half-circle motions for some of its attacks, as well as including the flight mode.

It includes the infinity gem system from the former game. If a Special or Hyper Attack is used, a gem may fall to the ground. The opponent can also pick up these gems to hinder Magneto's chances of getting them, but they aren't affected by the gem. In order to activate the gems, press Down, Down-Right, Right Start. The gems are:

Mind Mind: Magneto regains Power for eight seconds.

PowerGem Power: Magneto's Attack increases for six seconds.

Reality Reality: Magneto's Attacks spawn projectiles for five seconds.

Soul Soul: Magneto regains Life for seven seconds.

Space Space: Magneto gains Super Armour for eight seconds.

TimeGem Time: Magneto's speed increases for six seconds.

Magneto's A.I. is rather easy, as it attacks at random intervals. As a result, Magneto is an easy opponent for experienced players.
