Origin

Popeye

Popeye the Sailor Man is a character that has appeared various in comic strips and cartoons. He first appeared in the daily King Features comic strip Thimble Theatre on January 17, 1929.

His animations often feature him saving the defenseless Olive Oyl from the hulking brute Bluto and his goons. He is often seen eating cans of spinach, which gives him the strength he needs to overcome obstacles, even though spinach does not have that much nutritional value.

In M.U.G.E.N, he has been made by DDR. He was made for DDR's cartoon based fullgame, Saturday Mornin' Mayhem.

DDR's version[]

Popeye's moves and attacks are fast, but most of his attacks do not deal much damage to his opponents. Like all of DDR's creations, he has brutal A.I. that's pretty difficult to beat, due to the many attacks and combos he can pull off at any given time.
