The Attic is one of the main stages from The Black Heart'. This stage serves as the main stage for the Black Heart character Noroko and is set in an attic of an unknown building, the attic is empty apart from a light hanging from the ceiling and many drawings made with chalk. The stage is shown in two forms, one lighter and one darker which constantly switches between each form after a certain time until it finally goes dark; the first form is the attic brightened up by the lamp in the middle. When the attic is dark, some of the drawings move on their own.
In M.U.G.E.N, The Attic has been made by Andrés Borghi, and like the other stages from The Black Heart, is included in the full game, but it can be downloaded separately on his M.U.G.E.N page.
This early version of the stage has drawn houses with interrogation signs abode. The transition of the light in this version is a little strange, as it looks like someone is turning on and off the light of the room, instead of the light fading slowly.

The second version of this stage changes the drawn houses to a more Japanese themed like a Japanese temple and Japanese quotes. This version uploads the lighting effect of the room and adds a thin fog on the floor when the attic loses all its light.

The definitive version of this stage has a few changes on the doodles drawn at the walls to fit better the new arstyle of the game, those being completely redrawing the face of monster at the center of the stage by adding eye pupils to its former empty eyes, rewriting the Japanese quotes and replacing some of the childish doodles at the left with three human-like figures. This version implements a static dark fog on the corner of the stage.
