Kaede Hioh is an assassin who lives in an underground community. Kaede has no memory of her past, and is "wrapped in an enigma". Kaede receives a request for an assassination from the governement and enters the fight to fulfill it.
Kaede is a fast and agile character. Unlike some others 'Vanguard Princess' characters, she has 2 super moves instead of one but, cost her entire energy. She also attacks together with an assist chosen from a list of 4 others before the match. The player can use the attacks of said assist by using Ⓐ and the direction arrows (as long as the support bar at enough power, she reloads automatically but decreases if Kaede is hit during guarding), furthermore she cannot be hurt by the opponent.
Her Arrange Mode has the same abilities that Eri Hasumi.
Her AI is brutal, even in spamming projectiles does not work against her (because Kaede constantly blocks and her assist countered the projectile, which does not hurt Kaede).
