Based off Ash's debut game, this version is for the most part, accurate to The King of Fighters 2003, but also has multiple system modifications foir the better. Ash may not have too many Specials, but has many Command Normals that give it an unparalleled rushdown game, a rare statement for a charge character. The A.I even takes advantage of this.

Gameplay[]

Ash Crimson is a four button character. The character is based off The King of Fighters 2003, using the system from said game. However, certain liberties were taken from the source, adding Level 2 variants of its two Level 1 Hypers (akin to The King of Fighters 2002), as well as a Special cancellation system (from The King of Fighters Neowave). Both liberties benefit Ash's gameplay.

Despite being a charge character with the same Specials as Guile, Ash is very much a rushdown character. Its small amount of Specials manages to counterbalance its slightly unorthodox Command Normals. Either way, Ash can make use of Ventôse to zone and keep space. The Y variant can even knock the opponent down.

Ash has three different Hypers. Thermidor is a slow moving bubble projectile, but if the opponent touches it, it deals multiple hits. Pluviôse is a shorter version of Charlie Nash's Somersault Justice, except Ash preforms two Nivôses rather than one. Sans-culotte was Ash's Leader Move in the source game. It starts off with a flame enveloping Ash, which can cause Knockdown, but eliminates the charge in its Specials for a couple seconds, allowing it to heavily pressurize opponents.

Ash has custom A.I coding courtesy of Winane's A.I method. It is brutal due to the utilization of almost all of its tools to lock the opponent against the stage boundaries. Of all its Hypers, it only seems to use both variants of Pluviôse.
