Iku Nagae is a character from Touhou Project. She first appeared in Scarlet Weather Rhapsody as the penultimate boss for most characters' Story Mode scenarios.
Iku is an oarfish youkai, who acts as a messenger of the Dragon Palace. She has the ability to read the atmosphere and quickly adapt to the situation, though she often doesn't try to intervene unless absolutely necessary; in addition to this, Iku also has the ability to borrow the power of the Dragon God, including the ability to manipulate lightning. Unlike most youkai, Iku questions why the youkai and humans of Gensokyo accept fighting each other as part of their daily routine. During the events of Scarlet Weather Rhapsody, she predicts Tenshi Hinanawi's plot to cause an earthquake by reading the atmosphere, and descends to the surface in order to warn the residents of Gensokyo about the upcoming incident, before eventually deciding to deal with Tenshi herself.

While this character appears to have gameplay based on that of Ricepigeon's Touhou characters, it is in fact a spriteswap of RicePigeon's Komachi Onozuka with most of the coding taken from it. Unlike the character it's a spriteswap from, it has no Specials or Hypers and has almost no comboability.

Reprising her role as a herald to bring news of the author's upcoming Full Game project, RicePigeon's take on the oarfish messenger sports a wide variety of mid to long range moves to keep the opponent at bay. With a long range anti-air grab, tracking projectiles, a projectile reflector, and a dodge that would make even John Travolta proud, approaching this Iku will make her opponent feel like they were sick with a fever this Saturday night.
