Yukari Yakumo is a youkai from Touhou Project, who first appeared as the Phantasm Stage boss of Perfect Cherry Blossom. She would later make her debut as a playable character in Immaterial and Missing Power, and would go on to make later playable appearances in Imperishable Night, Scarlet Weather Rhapsody and Antinomy of Common Flowers.
Yukari is one of the Sages of Gensokyo, alongside Kasen Ibaraki and Okina Matara, responsible for the creation of the Hakurei Barrier that separates Gensokyo from the rest of the outside world. She is known as the "gap youkai" due to her almost unique power to manipulate boundaries, which allows her to control physical boundaries as well as metaphorical boundaries, as well as opening gaps in space to instantly travel anywhere of her choosing. In addition to her boundary abilities, she is also highly skilled in the art of omyoudou, and possesses two shikigami servants: Ran Yakumo and Chen, who often act in her stead. Though highly intelligent and calculating, she prefers to use covert or indirect action to handle situations, even if it means getting others to act in her place. She deliberately keeps her true nature and motives a mystery, appearing as an ally in some circumstances while appearing as an antagonistic force in others; due in part to her flaky and whimsical reputation, most residents of Gensokyo try to avoid her as much as possible, though she has managed to befriend a few residents, including Yuyuko Saigyouji, Suika Ibuki, and Reimu Hakurei, the latter of which is closely associated with the Hakurei Barrier that Yukari helped to create.

Phantasm and Shadow, Light and Darkness, Wave and Particle, High and Low; wherever there's a boundary, Yukari will manipulate it. Yukari is known throughout the world of Gensokyo as a youkai who toys with her opponents, and the move options available to this character are sure to keep her foes guessing.
RicePigeon's third version[]
Initially created as a prototype for Touhou: Incident Zero, RicePigeon's third take on the youkai of boundaries forgoes her old mix-up arsenal in favor of a more zoning-oriented approach inspired by her latest appearance in Antinomy of Common Flowers, but sacrifices the use of her Teke Teke urban legend in favor of a Groove system that allows Yukari to choose between offense, defense, or speed.
