Despite boasting being one of the earlier versions of Yoshi in M.U.G.E.N, this green dinosaur happens to be an odd spriteswap of Super Mario. While it attempts to deviate from the base, its beta state leaves it in the dust with two, messily implemented Specials and not much else.
As a spriteswap of Super Mario, Yoshi is a six button character. The gameplay leaves some elements from the source behind, but due to being in a beta state, the gameplay is also somewhat limited.
Due to the character's beta state, the character's gameplay is limited. Only one the base character's Specials (Egg Throw, originally known as Fireball) is present in this character. In fact, Yoshi has no Hypers. The other Special, Ground Pound, is implemented messily, with Yoshi reappearing back in the place it had preformed the move after it is finished. The former Special also has an EX variant.
On the bright side, Yoshi's comboability is somewhat better, but limited in comparison to the base character. The aerial raves are much harder to preform, as Yoshi must use its air jump to land hits on the opponent.
The A.I coding from the base character was removed, giving Yoshi M.U.G.E.N's default A.I. Given its limited moveset, Yoshi is an easy opponent.
