Dig Dug is a well-known arcade game created by Namco. The player plays as a short spaceman-like person named Taizo Hori, who often wields what most people assume is some sort of air pump. He travels around the levels with the main goal of ridding the land of the game's enemies consisting of ball creatures, called Pookas, and dragons, called Fygars. He disposes of them by either pumping them full of air until they pop or by crushing them with large boulders.
In M.U.G.E.N, Dig Dug has been created by aMAXproduction. The stage uses sprites taken straight from Dig Dug while creating its own elements like the bridges covering the holes. The stage is animated, with the lone Fygar and Pooka repeating 2 frame animations. After waiting a while, the entire screen (except Fygar) turns black and white while an exclamation point flashes. This is then followed by Fygar flying up and shooting fire before returning to the ground and restarting the loop.
