The idea of having a combat-ready, fully-dressed duck may seem a little too weird, but however, this particular duck appears to subvert this opinion, as Ducky's gameplay plays like Capcom vs. SNK, with the X-Factor system from Marvel vs. Capcom 3 thrown into the mix. The quacker is also nonetheless very skilled in melee combat, alongside the ability to summon a geyser and other ducks.
Ducky is a six-button character, using and for attacks. Ducky's kicks have a big range, making them useful. This contrasts with Ducky's punches, which are very short compared to his kicks. Ducky's long hitstun during his attacks are long, which unfortunately makes it impossible for him to Cancel an attack to another.
Ducky's gameplay style is considered to be Capcom vs. SNK-based, but with the X-Factor system from Marvel vs. Capcom 3 added in. Within his Capcom vs. SNK style, he can do EX moves, dodges, and parries. His X-Factor is labeled under Duck Factor, and if activated, he will be powered up, though how strong he gets depends on how low his life stat is.
Ducky's primary focus is melee attacks. Ducky has a few of these attacks, but are nonetheless very helpful to him. In the case of physical attacks, Ducky can use Water Splash to cause knockdown to the opponent, with the move being an Special. Ducky can also call assists in two of his moves. Duck Helpers summons two characters depending on the direction key; summons a small duck that tries to dive on the opponent, while has Ducky call Potato Ducky, who makes a long-range attack. The Duck Legion Hyper summons a swarm of divers, while Ducky can also activate Water Geyser, a variation of Water Splash that tracks the location of the opponent instead of needing to be done near the opponent.
Ducky has a custom A.I. that is skilled, but still beatable. Ducky tends to use Beak Flight and Beak Dive as a way to try and prevent his opponent from attacking him, though he is open at occasion.
