Designed to be accurate to the source game, this version of Candyman is a simple character that only makes use of two buttons, and has a fairly small number of moves as a result. He also has a rather unique lives mechanic that make him fragile, but powerful in the right hands.

Gameplay[]

Candystand

Candyman is a two-button character, using X and Y for his attacks. He does not have crouching-specific attacks or a throw, leaving him with a mere 3 Normals. Candyman is also unable to properly block attacks.

Candyman has a gimmick where, instead of a traditional health bar, Candyman has ten "lives". When getting hit by an attack, even if he's blocking, Candyman will fall off the screen and then re-emerge from the top, losing 10 Life in the process. This makes it impossible for an opponent to combo Candyman, but also makes Candyman rather fragile as it only takes ten hits to K.O. him.

To compensate for this, Candyman has various attacks to fill the screen with projectiles, to deal damage to the opponent while simultaneously making it difficult for them to hit Candyman. Candyman also has a "Sugar Rush" mode, which increases his speed and attack damage and lasts as long as Candyman has Power. The duration of Sugar Rush mode can be extended by landing attacks on opponents, as Power can still be gained while the mode is active.

Candyman's A.I. will generally try to use his projectiles and jump away from the opponent to avoid getting hit, while also building up Power to activate Sugar Rush.
