After a long period of inactivity, Claymizer returned with a new sprite style and new creations, with this Gallade being one of them. Semi-inspired by Khanny Pham's spriteswap of his own Blaziken, this Gallade features several moves he can learn in the games. His gameplay takes cues from the Marvel vs. Capcom series, particularly the second entry.

Gameplay[]

CMGallade

Gallade is a six-button character that uses the A, B, or C buttons for kicks and the X, Y, or Z buttons for punches. Gallade is loosely based on Khanny Pham's Gallade, taking cues from certain places, most notably the moveset. Just like the rest of characters by Claymizer, Gallade's gameplay is inspired by Marvel vs. Capcom 2, with the Z launcher, the Super Jump and the combo-heavy nature from Marvel vs. Capcom 2 included.

Gallade's comboability follows a simple light-to-heavy chain comboing system, and as a result, Gallade is able to cancel any of his Normals to perform a combo. He can perform a higher combo thanks to the Z launcher, allowing for it to perform a higher combo. Gallade can be considered cheap however, due to the fact that he is possible to spam the heavy variant of Psycho Cut due to the damage output, the velocity of the projectile and the short cooldown time, preventing the opponent from attacking, and can result in an infinite if the opponent is in the corner. He also has Gardevoir as a striker. Gallade's aerial Z is the only Normal that cannot hit the opponent, due to not having any hitboxes or hurtboxes, and it reverts to an older standing animation that Gallade had before the current one was created. Because of that move that doesn't function, Gallade might not be fully completed.

Gallade has four Specials and one Hyper. Psycho Cut is a simple projectile that can be performed in the air, which a purple crescent-like blade, as the name suggests, Night Slash sees Gallade rushing into his opponent and slashing them, and if the attack is successful, the stage becomes gray for a very short while, Leaf Blade involves Gallade jumping up while attacking his opponent with the blade, and Gardevoir makes Gallade summon Gardevoir to fire her leaves as a projectile. Leaf Storm functions similar to Leaf Blade, but makes Gallade attack his opponent three times instead of one.

Gallade uses the default A.I., which makes him randomly attack while moving and jumping around the stage. Despite being able to spam the heavy variant of Psycho Cut, the default A.I. does not do that, making Gallade an easy opponent.

Trivia[]

  • An oversight with the Y variant of Psycho Cut causes Gallade's Power to increase by 1000 when used, not including the Power received from when the attack connects. This allows Gallade to maximise its Power meter with just three attacks.
