Not to let the cutlery it's holding go to waste, Alakazam's Normals make good use of its spoons, while its entire range of Special and Hyper Attacks are based on moves that it can learn in the games, although its Hypers are a bit overpowered. Its sprites are taken from the Pokémon games, albeit altered for purpose.
Alakazam is a four-button character, though only using Ⓒ as a form of Power charge. While its regular attacks lack range, save perhaps its standing light punch, Alakazam is still able to deal large amounts of damage, though unfortunately not through racking up combos, which is something the player will have trouble doing. One of its Specials, 炎のパンチ, deals a fair amount of damage on contact and even more damage when the opponent falls down, which is something its A.I. likes to use often, typically after a racking up a small combo with a few hits of its standing jab. Adding on to its high damage output, Alakazam's two Hypers are both overpowered, though one is overpowered on a damage basis (as well as being unblockable), while the other based on the large amount of Life it restores; named じこさいせい, this Hyper restores a large chunk of Life immediately after use and then continues to restore more over time.
In regards to its A.I., Alakazam can perform actions much easier than the player can, such as being able to combo three standing jabs into each other and then pulling off a 炎のパンチ, which already takes out a large portion of the opponent's Life. It also appears to be able to recover from hitstun much faster than the average character, being able to retaliate before the opponent has a chance to combo into another attack. The A.I. also likes using Alakazam's Power charge once the opponent has been flung far away, which almost grants it 1000 Power, which it will either use to restore its Life or activate its unblockable Hyper when the opponent gets close. It also has a tendency to block a lot of the time, which much like recovering from hitstun, it can stop as soon as it needs to, allowing it to retaliate instantly.
