Angry Video Game Nerd is a six-button character with a balanced fighting style, although some of his melee attacks are somewhat underpowered.
AVGN's gameplay focuses significantly more on air game, meaning the most effective way to K.O. an opponent is to launch them into the air and mash Ⓧ, Ⓨ, Ⓐ and Ⓑ from there, seeing as Ⓩ slams the opponent back down to the ground, and Ⓒ is a very weak move with barely any hitstun and is liable to missing.
AVGN does not have a custom A.I., meaning it uses the unchallenging A.I. provided by the M.U.G.E.N engine by default. It is very unlikely that the A.I. will launch the opponent into the air and follow up with an aerial rave.
