A very close conversion of Ryo from The King of Fighters '94 and The King of Fighters '95, this version of Ryo plays as a hybrid of both games. It contains many special abilities, most of which are source accurate, although it has a stun bar, something not present in the source.
Ryo uses five buttons. All but Ⓒ are used for Normals, while Ⓩ is a shortcut for its Strong Attack. Ryo plays like a hybrid of The King of Fighters '94 and The King of Fighters '95.
Coming equipped with techniques from the source, Ryo is armed with a dodge, POW meter, and a stun meter. Ryo's dodge causes it to stand in place, like the source, but it has no shortcut, unlike the Strong Attack. The POW meter is used in the place of the (still present) Power bar, requiring damage and/or its Power charge to be used to fill it up. The stun meter constantly increases, so the player must constantly attack to keep it decreasing. When it empties, the opponent is sent into a dizzy state.
Ryo's A.I is brutal and advanced, using many of its abilities. This makes it a hard opponent to overcome.
