Origin

Sonic The Hedgehog

Espio the Chameleon is a character originally from the Sonic the Hedgehog Series. He originally got his start in the game Knuckles Chaotix, but was brought back, along with the other Chaotix Members, in Sonic Heroes.

In M.U.G.E.N, Espio has been made by three authors, SuperMystery's version plays more like a Sonic the Hedgehog character than a fighting game character, while Mugen Hunter's version is more traditional. Neo Fire Sonic's version is closer to the likes of Ibuki with his ninja like movements and throwing daggers.

Supermystery's version

EspioRun

Supermystery's Espio, like many of Supermystery's characters, plays like an actual Sonic Character as opposed to a fighting game character. Espio's attacks mainly include jumping into opponents to deal damage, but if he breaks a Special Monitor (with an S) he can use an 8-Way spike-mine attack. As well as collecting monitors and rings to power up, Espio can also cling to walls.

MUGENHunter's versions

Espio1

MUGENHunter has made several versions of Espio in two forms. His first versions borrows heavily from his original appearance in Knuckles Chaotix. His moves are pretty simple, he can use spin dash attacks like Mugen Hunter's other characters, and can also use upward kicks, use a dashing headbutt, and a slow charging projectiles that shoot out like bullets as well. He uses Strider Hiryu's voice.

Espio2

In Freedom Fighters 2 and Freedom Fighters 2 Plus, Mugen Hunter has an alternate form of Espio known as Chaotix, and is tailored more closely to the Sonic Heroes version of the character. This Espio acts somewhat as a grappler. He uses his tongue a lot to attack his opponents, as well as both of his supers being judo grapples, both of which are commonly seen in other fighting game characters. Like MUGENHunter's first Espio, this Espio uses Strider Hiryu's voice.
