Those who remember the Egg Mobile-D boss fight from Sonic the Hedgehog 2 might have an understanding as to why this character has the name of 'Stupid Little Drill Tank', as it behaves exactly like it does in the source game, but with the average character only being able to take up to five hits from the drill. The Stupid Little Drill Tank is an A.I.-only character, so it stands to reason that it cannot be controlled by a human player.
Stupid Little Drill Tank is an A.I.-only character and cannot be controlled by the player even when selected. It is a boss character that behaves exactly like it did in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 and has only two means of attacking an opponent.
Stupid Little Drill Tank drives back and forth, driving in the opposite direction after leaving the screen and returning. When the player comes into contact with the drill, it will take 200 points of damage and gets knocked down, meaning the average character can only take up to five hits from the drill. When Stupid Little Drill Tank's Life drops below 125, its fires its drill like in the source game. If the drill hits the player, it will take 400 points of damage instead of 200. After this, it becomes harmless and can be finished off.
To damage Stupid Little Drill Tank, one has to either get behind it and attack it or use ranged attacks. This can be very difficult, since the player doesn't have much time to attack it. It has Super Armor, meaning it won't flinch from attacks. Most Hypers will fail because they get interrupted when the player touches the drill.
There are some minor bugs present in the character. Using a time-stopping move will cause Stupid Little Drill Tank to move forward each time it gets hit. The tank cannot properly damage some characters with Super Armor. Some moves may cause Stupid Little Drill Tank to abruptly change direction.
This character is controlled solely by the A.I., so no activation methods are present.
This character does not have any victory quotes, meaning it uses the screenpack's default.
There are two easter eggs present in the character, which can be enabled by editing a config file. The first easter egg makes an opponent spawn rings when hit, and the second easter egg activate a "revenge mode", which causes Stupid Little Drill Tank to move faster in later rounds when defeated.
