Those who are familiar with The Legend of Zelda series should know what to expect when fighting this character. While its initial appearances may allow it to seem relatively harmless, hell hath no fury like a gaggle of enraged Cuccos, and the one foolish enough to partake in animal abuse will end up mercilessly juggled until their Life is depleted; shame there aren't any houses around to make an escape into...
Cucco is a joke character with gameplay very faithful to the source games. Initially, it is unable to attack or jump and the only actions it can perform are moving around and taunting. Thus, it is little more than a punching bag. It also has Super Armor and is able to walk past the opponent.
However, after its Life is reduced to half or less, Cucco goes into a "rage mode" and the player loses control over Cucco. It now becomes invincible and randomly walks back and forward while calling more Cuccos, hurting the opponent on contact. The Cuccos called also hurt the opponent and walk back and forward, eventually overwhelming the opponent.
Curiously, it is immune to debug keys and attempting to abuse them to K.O. it instead reduces its Life to 501, meaning the next hit will trigger its rage mode. This also makes it completely impossibile to K.O. with any character other than cheapies.
Cucco has no custom A.I. and uses the engine's default. While it is only able to move around or taunt, it is still unable to be K.O.'d normally because it is invincible during its rage mode.
This character does not have any Special or Hyper Attacks.
