Banjo, along with his breegull Kazooie, are the main protagonists of the Banjo-Kazooie video game series. He debuted in the game Diddy Kong Racing before getting his own video game series.

Some time before the events of the first game, Banjo met and adopted Kazooie, who often seeks shelter in his backpack. The two have gone on several adventures together. In most of them, they stop the plans of the evil witch Gruntilda, the main antagonist on the series. The personalities of Banjo and Kazooie are very different, with Banjo's being being well-mannered and easygoing and Kazooie's being obnoxious, hot-tempered and sligthly egoistic. While Kazooie likes adventuring, Banjo hates it. Banjo doesn't have many abilities alone, but with Kazooie, the duo has a lot more abilities. However, in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts, the duo forgot most of their abilities.

In M.U.G.E.N, Banjo has been made by J. NEWMAN and Aperson98. Aperson98's version has been edited by Superteletubbies64.

J. NEWMAN's version

As one would expect from a character made by J. NEWMAN, this version has a very bare-bones moveset, with only one crouching and one aerial Normal, only one Special and no Hypers. He also has no comboability and very wonky hitboxes. The sprites are taken from Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge.

Aperson98's versionEditicon

This version of Banjo is a three-button character with a moveset that is heavily based on the duo's skills from the Banjo-Kazooie games, being different from regular punches and kicks, and he has no real comboability as a result. The majority of the moves that are supposed to be Specials and Hypers are attributed as Normals, and over half of these are projectiles.
