Updated it to mention RC6 instead of RC5 as the most recent version of M.U.G.E.N 1.0 as well as its release date (that I am pretty sure is wrong but thats what is on there website)

One of the main characters of the street fighter series and one of the two playable characters in the original Street Fighter (in which he was a Ryu clone for use by the second player). '''Sanji''' is a major character in the anime/manga series ''One Piece''. The most complete version of him is available in the game [[One Piece: Grand Line Bout]], and this version is not available to the public along with the rest of the characters from that game. Sanji is a powerful character, but his main advantages in terms of gameplay are his quick combos.

==Character Background==
Sanji once worked aboard a cruise ship as an assistant chef, until the day it was raided by pirates. During the raid, a massive storm hit, which capsized the ship and left Sanji and the pirates' captain, "Red Foot" Zeff (nicknamed such because of his all-kicking fighting style, which left his shoes dyed with his enemies' blood), stranded on a featureless island with a steep drop between the coast and the water below. All they had to eat was what Zeff had taken from the ship; because Zeff saw some of his idealism in Sanji, who believed in the existence of a sea that contained fish from all corners of the world known as the "All Blue", Zeff gave all of his food supply to Sanji, leaving himself to eat one of his legs and preventing himself from returning to piracy. After several months, they were rescued, and Sanji and Zeff, who had grown close during their time stranded on the island, opened a restaurant that travelled through the oceans, giving food to those who would pay for it. The restaurant's general lack of discipline attracted violent cooks, Marine officials, and pirates, making it a particularly rowdy place to eat. After [[Monkey D. Luffy]] accidentally launched a cannonball into the restaurant, he was forced to work there to pay off the damages. However, shortly afterwards, [[Don Krieg]], the most feared human pirate in the East Blue (the title of most feared pirate, far and away, going to [[Arlong]]), attacked the place, wanting to use it as a vessel to conquer the Grand Line, as it was so silly-looking that no one would suspect that it was a pirate ship. Luffy defeated Krieg and his fleet of five thousand men, and his sheer determination won Sanji over. Sanji accepted Luffy's offer to join his crew, and has been his chef ever since.

Sanji is extremely devoted to any woman that he meets, especially [[Nami]], [[Nico Robin]], and [[Nefertari Vivi]]. He goes to great lengths to protect them, and gets extremely angry when they are attacked, threatened, or captured. This worked against him when he and the rest of the crew stormed Enies Lobby to rescue Robin, as he wound up facing off against Cipher Pol Nine's only female member, who used her sexuality to her advantage. Try as he might, Sanji was unable to hit her, so Nami was forced to take over. Sanji has a particularly fierce rivalry with [[Roronoa Zoro]], as the two trade insults and argue often. However, the title of Sanji's arch-enemy arguably goes to Absalom, a member of Gecko Moria's pirate crew. As perverted as Sanji if not moreso, Absalom ate a Devil Fruit that gave him the power of invisibility, which was the only one that Sanji had wanted. He uses this power to practically molest Robin and especially Nami, which leads to Sanji defeating him effortlessly out of sheer rage. Try as he might, Sanji's luck is terrible; he tries his hardest to get a bounty on his head, but when he does, it's an ugly composite sketch; he encounters a man who blames Sanji for his troubles, as it turns out that the man's face almost exactly resembles Sanji's wanted poster; he was recently transported to a feminine paradise, but the inhabitants are all male transvestites. Despite this, Sanji is one of the three strongest fighters on the crew, and capable of single-handedly beating almost any male opponent that he comes across.

==Public Opinions==
When the game was first released, Sanji was one of the least popular characters because his attacks were slow and he did not have a lot of range. However, with the second beta, he was given more attacks that allowed him to move across the stage while using them, and many of his old attacks increased in speed. In the third beta, he was the only character to have a special that transformed him during gameplay ([[Nico Robin]] could become Miss All-Sunday, her older version, on the select screen, but could not do so in game), which increased his popularity further. Although by the final version, he will not be the only character to be able to do this (it has been stated that there are plans to give [[Monkey D. Luffy|Luffy]] the ability to use his Gears to increase his speed and strength, and [[Rob Lucci|Lucci]] will likely be able to transform into his half-leopard form as a function of his Devil Fruit), Sanji has improved enough over the betas that he can be considered one of the strongest Straw Hat Pirates in-game, and one of the more complete characters.
